First off, Physicians Formula LOVES giving their products ridiculously long names - perfect example being Nude Wear Glowing Nude Blush in Natural - so I'm just going to cut the lengthy titles and start referring to the brand as PF (cuz I'm lazy) and the product as Natural (also because I'm lazy).
The blush originally comes with a little silver overspray on the letters, which wipes away with a light brushing, and 4 blocks of color that can be used - with surgical precision - individually or to make your own custom blend. Natural has more warm tones to it when compared to Rose, the second blush in the line.
So everything is all super pretty and happy and marvelous right now, but will that hold up after swatching? Find out after the jump.
NOPE!
This is definitely one of those products where the awesomeness stops after the super cute packaging. The sheen on this is really lovely because when (heavily) swatched it brings a nice luminosity to the skin, but the darned thing is way too light in the pigmentation (and color) department to be functional. I mean, it barely shows up on my pale-ass inside of the wrist with heavy swatching so I'm betting you can imagine what happens when you try to use it with a big, fluffy, powder-diffusing brush. (hint: Nada. Nothing happens).
I didn't even bother doing a wear test because I couldn't even get the product to show up on my cheeks, and that was even after a mighty amount of brush swirling in the pan.
I really wanted to love this product because a) the packaging is #totesadrobz, and b) I really liked the highlighting concealer from this line, but alas... Physicians Formula has once again done the thing where they make me fall in love with one product and then pelt me with several duds. Sorry, PF, but I can't let any of my buddies drop $13 on a sheerer than sheer blush.

thanks for the review! this is why i hesitate before touching any PF now. they are a little on the pricier range for drugstore cosmetics, and the packaging is always cute but I have never had a good experience with this stuff. Won't be getting this one either!
ReplyDeleteThank God I got this (and most other PF items) for mad discounts over at Rite Aid. Most of the time they're either 40% off or there is some kind of "buy $X and get $X back in +UP rewards" deal going on so things total out to be anywhere from 25-60% of the full price. Even still, this was a total let down, but I'm glad I was able to make something of it. ^-^
DeletePF does have a few good items that I've shelled out for over and over again (I'm actually on my 3rd Happy Booster Bronzer in Light Bronze), but my general experience is that for every 4 you try, only 1 will be worth keeping and that 1 will rock your socks.
i bought it & returned it 15 min later lol
ReplyDeleteI'm honestly pissed that I can't find my receipt.
Deleteman, that packaging almost sucked me in! I've never been a huge fan of their cheek products though..the quality usually isn't there and man, for a drugstore product they sure are expensive!
