To make things easy on myself, I decided to stick with a few products that were either on their last legs, or that are easy to incorporate into daily routines. I'm also doing this because I've found myself in a bit of a slump lately, both with makeup and mentally, and I'm hoping that this will get me to use makeup a whole lot more than my current rate.
The first victim is my very loved and also very discontinued Maybelline Dream Matte Powder. I've been holding on to this for a while because it's my favorite powder I've tried and I've not been ready to finish something that I can't get anymore. Let's be honest though... it's time for this thing to go. It's old, and it's also kept my views on powder in 2011, which is when I started using it. There have been so many advancements in makeup and setting powders in the past 5 years and I need to get over it and find something new and hopefully better. I've already hit pan on this, but in all honesty I don't think I'll be able to finish this sucker, but gol' dang I'm gonna try.
I've had this highlighting pen from Physicians Formula for a while. I mostly use this Nude Wear Touch of Glow Nude Glow under my eyes to slightly correct and illuminate my terrible, hereditary dark tear troughs. I can already see the little twist up platform on this, so that gives me some hope to finishing this guy, but I really want to crank up the usage (pun intended) by using this as an all over highlighter.
I'm gonna be real with you guys... I don't see this Benefit Ooh La Lift! doing much for my undereyes, but since it's already pretty empty, I thought I'd just throw it in as kind of a freebie. I actually don't know the exact amount of use with this guy, but if I use it everyday I'm pretty sure that I'll be gone within a month.
I really do like this Revlon Kissable Balm shade in Honey, but I just never reach for it. I wanted to give myself an easy lip product, so a moisturizing balm in a natural shade seemed like the most logical choice even if I've still got about 90% left. This is something that I can easily throw in my purse and reapply multiple times a day.
Ah, yes... another item that I can't judge the actual usage with. That's really smart, Carly. I really like this product, but it does subtly make my brows look a little ashy right now. It's not super noticeable, but I just kind of want to get it out of the way.
This Clinique Quickliner for Eyes Intense in Intense Chocolate is well over half way done. I really like this eyeliner, I just haven't picked it up for a while and it is getting up there in age. I thought I'd just give it a good send off instead of finding it a few months later and tossing it.
I'll check back with you guys 30 days from the first day of spring on February 20th. Good luck to me!
You can do it! (also I hate oh-la-lift, it makes my eyes look worse)
ReplyDeleteI would think it could, I just have a sample like that and highlight cheekbones cuz I have oily skin so that's about all I really can highlight and I can't imagine using it on the bags I've always had under my eyes...cuz it would probably be like look right here! See these! If you didn't notice, now ya do cuz they are covered in shimmer!! Lol
DeleteI use ooh la la lift as a highlight sometimes...you could get rid of it that way
