Glossier Generation G Matte Lipstick "Crush" Review + Swatch

I reviewed the Generation G Matte Lipstick in "Cake" a few months back, and I gotta tell ya it doesn't do it for me as much as it originally did. Don't get me wrong, I still like it, but I want a little more punch when it comes to color during the summer months so here we are with "Crush"! If you're new to the Generation G Matte Lipsticks, they're basically a sheer, matte lip balm. It's unlike anything else I've ever tried, but it's just so, so easy to throw on and is one of my favorite "lazy girl" products.

Beauty Blender Micro Mini Review

Sorry about the mangled tube. My dachshund love crunchy plastic packaging

Me and Beauty Blender go waaay back! I've been using their original sponge off and on since 2012 and really, really like it. There have been a lot of new releases from the brand, some of which seem really gimmicky, but none of them caught my eye. Even these tiny little buggers didn't pique my interest and the only reason I have it is because it was in a past Beauty Con BFF Box. I prefer to do a lot of under eye work with a sponge so I thought I'd give these ones a go for that.

Last Week in Review (July 17 - July 23)

Sunday, July 24, 2016
Man oh MAN! It has been SCORCHING this weekend here in San Diego! I was supposed to do a large batch of filming and post writing, but my poor little laptop and I could not deal with the heat. Instead of actually using my brain to write what was supposed to be today's post, I've decided to just do a little week in review with all of my posts and videos if you happened to miss them!

Sephora Tarteist Tools 500 Point Perk Swatches

Friday, July 22, 2016

It's been a while since I've redeemed a 500 point perk. There have been some great ones in the past, but most of the ones I wanted had sold out before I got around to grabbing them. Mercifully, the makeup gods were smiling upon me the other day and I got the very last Tarteist Tools one. Squee!

Bésame "Chocolate Kiss" Review + Swatch

Little known fact about me; I'm a huge history nerd. Very well known fact about me; I am a huge makeup nerd. This brand, Bésame, perfectly marries the two with their historically accurate, yet safe to wear, cosmetics ranging from cake mascara to powders to fragrance, and to lipstick which is what I'm going to be reviewing for you today. I picked up the lipstick in "Chocolate Kiss", their 1970s shade, when I was at The Makeup Show LA. Let's take a closer look at this baby!

Milk Makeup Natural Deodorant Review

I've been wanting to try Milk Makeup products for ages. The minimalist designs, the cool-girl vibe, and eco-conscious products really caught my eye. Unfortunately, not a lot of Milk Makeup items are available in my area so I had to settle for trying out what I could find. Fortunately I've been on the hunt for an aluminum-free deodorant for a minute, so picking up the Milk Makeup Natural Deodorant wasn't a begrudging buy.

Glossier Flavored Balm Dot Com Rose Review + Swatch

I have a confession to make: I'm an 87 year old trapped in a 22 year old body. I enjoy collecting vintage tea cups, black licorice is one of my preferred sweets, and I love rose-scented products. I've been meaning to try out the very hyped Glossier Balm Dot Com, so i just had to spring for this rose one after it launched.

Lancôme Juicy Shaker in Walk the Lime Review + Swatch

Apart from the odd mascara or skincare sample, I've not been that exposed to Lancôme in my years as a makeup enthusiast. Maybe it's because my obsession began while I was younger and more likely to drift towards the trendier brands, or maybe the slightly higher price point put me off of it, but I've never purchased anything from them. However, these new Juicy Shakers did catch my attention partially because I haven't seen a bad word about them, but also because one of my makeup idols, Lisa Eldridge, is the creative director for the brand and has been promoting the heck out of these. Baa.

Lancôme Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover

Eye makeup remover isn't something that I deem absolutely vital to my skincare routine. I rarely wear eyeliner and Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser normally has my back when it comes to fully removing everything in my eye area. In my pre-Milky Jelly Cleanser days I would use the Target brand knock off of the Neutrogena eye makeup remover, which was superior, so since I don't have a lot of experience with high end makeup removers I didn't really know what to expect going into this. Apparently this Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover is the most popular Lancôme product and is popular world wide, so it's gotta be good, right?

About Serums and My Personal Faves

If you would have asked me 5 years ago what serums were I would have given you a blank stare. Back then I was young and didn't really know much about skin care beyond cleanser, moisturizer, exfoliator, and the occasional mask. Now that I'm approaching my mid-20's (scoff if you must, but it's mildly terrifying for me) I'm starting to take my skincare seriously since I'm beginning to see the beginning of some wrinkles forming and I am not having it. Serums actually play a pretty big part in my skincare routine, and while I'm still discovering what works for me and what doesn't, I've definitely got a few that I stand by. Before we get into my favorite serums, let's do a little skincare 101 and actually discuss what they are and what they do.
