I reviewed the Generation G Matte Lipstick in "Cake" a few months back, and I gotta tell ya it doesn't do it for me as much as it originally did. Don't get me wrong, I still like it, but I want a little more punch when it comes to color during the summer months so here we are with "Crush"! If you're new to the Generation G Matte Lipsticks, they're basically a sheer, matte lip balm. It's unlike anything else I've ever tried, but it's just so, so easy to throw on and is one of my favorite "lazy girl" products.

"Crush" is housed in a semi-opaque, slender white tube with black script and a color-coded sticker on the bottom. The snaps into place very securely, but can be a little difficult to open post-moisturization - hey, don't judge... this is a real issue for me.

I'd call "Crush" a sheer magenta pink that basically kicks my already pigmented lips into vibrant overdrive. One swipe ads a subtle hint of color, but it can be built up to be a little less sheer. The formula is also a touch moisturizing, which is surprising because it's a matte. Both of the Generation G lipsticks that I've worn are pretty comfortable, but they have a slight modeling clay scent to them. I mean, it's not anything super noticeable but hey. I do notice that it does wear off in the center pretty quickly when eating, drinking, or rubbing your lips together which does bum me out a bit but they're essentially just lip balms.

You can find live swatches of the rest of the line in my Glossier Phase 2 Set review video! The swatching begins at around 5:47.

Final thoughts: I've actually been wearing this non-stop since I got it. It's super comfortable, effortless to wear, provides some hydration, and I'm digging the whole "is that her natural lip color or nah?" effect. So far both of the shades that I've purchased haven't disappointed me and I'm debating on whether or not I want to grab the other two shades in the collection. If you're a full-pigment makeup kind of person, this isn't for you but it's perfect for low-maintenance or simple makeup lovin' folks.
