Not that long ago I reviewed another lipstick from this line, Armageddon, and while I loved the formula, the shade didn't do it for me. Thankfully I picked up Lolita at The Makeup Show LA, which is definitely a "me" shade, so I can fully enjoy my favorite liquid lipstick.

The long, sleek tube has gothic, tattoo-esque details on it with silver roses on the black cap. The applicator is a traditional doe foot applicator, which actually does a great job of getting the right amount of product on it so no over-saturation here! It's also not too large to be unwieldy and works well on my thin lips. This formula high-pigment, long wearing contains vitamin E and sunflower oil to make this super matte formula more comfortable on the lips.

Lolita, a chestnut rose, is a gorgeous my lips but better for me. I have a ton of colors in this color family in my lip product collection, but I always welcome more! As for the formula it is very thin, which makes it quite comfortable and less prone to pilling, cracking, or wearing against itself and those are normally my main complaints when it comes to liquid lipsticks. Despite it's thin formula it's actually quite pigmented! I had issues with streaking with Armageddon, but this one is just fine. This does have a small amount of tackiness upon drying down, but that goes away within an hour. It does transfer a little bit the first few times your take some sips, but only tiny bits of the product come off leading to long wear. Since this is so thin, I end up forgetting I'm wearing it, and that's ultimately what I look for in lip products. This liquid lipstick deserves all the hype.

TL;DR

Price: $20

Size: 0.22 oz

Availability: Sephora, Kat Von D

Pros:

  • Long wearing
  • Comfortable
  • Light weight
  • Doesn't pill due to thin consistency
Cons:
  • Remains a tiny bit tacky after application for about an hour
Cruelty free: Yes indeed!

Final thoughts: I've finally found a matte liquid lipstick that I love! Yay! After suffering through thick, chunky, and goopy matte liquid lipsticks, I've finally found the land of milk and honey... or land of Kat Von D. It's comfortable, long wearing, and pigmented. Me likey.
