Another thing you should know is that I normally gravitate towards neutrals, especially when it comes to the lips, but I will occasionally lose my mind and go completely berserk over the tackiest lip color imaginable (and I LOVE it). Meet my guilty pleasure; Urban Decay Jilted Lipstick.
The one thing that really caught my eye with this product is the fact that I've never come across something this batshit before. Sure, a super bright fuchsia isn't all that uncommon, but the blue shift in this that keeps it interesting, yet out of the overly frosted danger zone of the 80s, is what makes me weak at the knees!
Time to meet Jilted's little sister, Blue Rose.
The main difference between these two is that Blue Rose is a lighter fuchsia with one helluva powerful blue shift kick and Jilted has more of a raspberry tint to it and is more subdued, but both have that bizarro blue shift to them, which is a total knock out color combination. There are also a few other little things here and there which set them apart (Jilted is more fully opaque and the texture for both differs), but I'd be lying if I said I was disappointed in the cheaper option of Blue Rose.

Opacity difference: Jilted is fully opaque with one swipe and while Blue Rose has enough punch to show up in all of its fury with one swipe, it isn't completely opaque
Texture difference: Jilted is creamier
Is it a true dupe: Nope, but still a fantastic product and close enough to put it in the same category.

DeleteI'm pretty strict about what's considered a dupe, so when I do find one, it's a pretty big deal! Still, for the price, that looks like a great alternative!

Likewise! I'm such a sticker for dupes that I can't look at Temptalia's dupe matrix for more than 5 minutes without having to take a break. I just had to share this one though since the color combination is pretty hard to run across and I was totally tickled that I could find something similar at the drugstore! :)
DeleteRevlon Lip Butter in Lollipop seems like it could be similar too, and also has that blue shimmer. In case you need one more!
ReplyDeleteWow! I just Googled swatches and man, that thing is pretty. :) Revlon Lip Butters completely trash my lips though (and I'm talking massive cracks the size of canyons). Bummer. :(
DeleteJordana Raspberry and Wet n Wild 521A also have the bright-fuchsia-with-blue-shimmer thing going on, although I don't have Jilted so I'm not sure how they compare. I have a little bit of an obsession with this color, every version I've seen is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWet n Wild's Fuschia with Blue Pearl is a dupe for NYC's Blue Rose, BUT the formula is more opaque and long wearing, FYI :).
