Wet n Wild Poster Child ColorIcon 8 Pan Palette Review + Swatches

Wednesday, March 26, 2014
Wet n Wild has included a bunch of new additions to their core and Fergie line over the past few months, and this new 8 pan palette is one of them. Normally bright colors like this are reserved for limited edition products, but I have to clap Wet n Wild on the back for deciding to add this much color into their permanent line (and just in time for pastel crazed spring).

Unfortunately I can't congratulate them for turning out another awesome 8 pan palette.

More after the jump!

Poster Child is replacing Blue Had Me at Hello, and while I don't really find myself in the market for a ridiculously blue palette, I honestly wish that they would have kept it instead. Blue Had Me at Hello is by no means Comfort Zone level quality, but it is leagues above this new palette. I'll just let the swatches speak for themselves here...

Poor pigmentation aside, this palette also falls flat of the normal Wet n Wild legendary quality because of the stiff texture that pretty much all of the shades posses. They're pretty hard and difficult to deal with, but I guess the silver lining in this scenario is that there is minimal fallout.

Personally, I find the majority of the colors to be a bit tacky and garish, but the pinks might be promising for the occasional bright look. If you really want to get a nice kick of color though, you'll want to use both either a primer or a white base (or both) depending on the amount of vividness that you want.

TL;DR section:

Price: $4.99

Size: 0.3 oz, 8.5 g

Availability: Wet n Wild retailers

Pros:
  • Inexpensive
Cons:
  • Poor pigmentation
  • Cheap packaging
  • Hard texture

Cruelty free: Yup!

Overall rating: just... no.

    1. Apparently churning out a lot of not-so-great products. I have a few more gripes I need to post about.

  2. A bright palette with that price would be a dream come true! :( I know WNW could come out with one; their other palettes prove that! What were they thinking?!

  3. If this is a foreshadow of what's to come from WNW, I'm tapping out.
