NYX Be Gone! Lip Color Remover Review

Saturday, March 5, 2016
This product is a PR sample given to me for consideration. I posted this review because I wanted to, not because I had to and all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

With long wearing lip products and liquid lipstick becoming increasingly popular, there's been a need for a gentle and effective removal method. If you're a liquid lipstick lover or do lip swatch videos, you may want to pick this up and make your life a little easier and less painful. This product is supposed to thoroughly condition and pamper the lips while effectively wiping away long-lasting lip color, and it does just that.

The packaging is very simple, much like a lot of NYX products. It's just a matte, white and black squeeze tube with an angled tip.

Products from top to bottom: Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick, Winky Lux "Voodoo" and "Latte"

Even though there's an angled top similar to some tubed lip glosses, I prefer to squeese out the product on to my finger and rub it over my lips. Squeezing it out is quite a feat, let me tell ya. It takes quite a bit of squeezing to get the thick, pink goo out. The balmy product quickly emulsifies into an oil-esque substance which gently breaks up the lip product. The oil slick that once was some lipstick is then easily wiped away with a damp cloth. No scrubbing, no tugging... just easy removal that leaves the lips feeling conditioned.

TL;DR

Price: $5

Size: 0.43 fl. oz/ 13 mL

Availability: NYX, Ulta

Pros:

  • Easy and pain-free lip color remover
  • Conditions lips
Cons:
  • It takes some force to dispense the product
Cruelty free: Yesseriee.

Final thoughts: I'd skip this if you're just a casual lip color user that doesn't use liquid lipsticks or long-wear products, but this is definitely a life/lip saver if you're a long-wear lip addict.
