There are just some things that when you find them you just know. Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser and I hit it off immediately and I've never fallen in love with a skincare product this quickly. I love it so much that I repurchased it even before my current bottle ran out. MJC is basically my Gwendoline Christe in Shining Armor and I never want to be without it again. Obviously, you can already tell how this review is gonna go.
Glossier's Milky Jelly Cleanser comes in a simple, rounded bottle with the Glossier "G" logo and black script on the front. The back has a Glossier pink label with instructions and ingredients on it. 6 fluid ounces of product is housed in the slightly squishy plastic bottle and a pump sits atop with a twist open, twist closed mechanism. Personally, I love the stunningly simplistic packaging.

I've been a fan of alternate methods of removing makeup, i.e. cleansing oils and cleansing balms, for about two years now, but nothing can hold a candle to this. It is indeed milky and jelly-y and feels so lovely going on the skin. I use about 2 pumps in the evening to remove my makeup - sometimes 3 if my mascara is feeling a bit stubborn - and 1 in the morning to wash away the night. It glides on so well, doesn't irritate my skin OR my eyes, and basically becomes silk when you add water to it. It's super effective at removing face and eye makeup, but waterproof mascara and eyeliner that I've tightlined with does need a little extra work, but it's by far the most effective and gentle cleanser I've used since it removes pretty much everything but doesn't leave the face feeling stripped. This Milky Jelly Cleanser is lovely on my combo-oily skin, but I can see this being an absolute dream for dry skinned folks since it doesn't foam, doesn't strip oil, and actually leaves the face feeling a little moisturized. It has the lightest hint of a rosewater scent, but I don't find that to irritate my skin in the least bit.

Final thoughts: Dare I call this my holy grail cleanser? Oh, I most definitely dare! It's great to remove a face full of makeup while also being a nice, gentle cleanser. It makes my skin feel amazing, it's a treat to use, and goddamnit I just love it. I highly recommend this cleanser to anyone with sensitive skin, dry skin, normal skin, combo-oily skin, oily skin, makeup wearers, and non-makeup wearers. This thing is basically magic in a bottle.

  1. I want to try this stuff so bad! I love the packaging and every review makes it sound so perfect (plus I'm a slut for cleansers).

  2. Bit late to the game but from your description a really good dupe is the CeraVe cleanser for dry skin. Cheap, available everywhere it has a similar gel-y milky texture.
